Candida

Candida - what is it, have I got it &
how do I treat it?

Candida, IBS, Bloating

Candida is a type of yeast that can live on the skin, mucous membranes, in the intestines and mouth.

If the growth becomes uncontrollable then the resulting infection is known as candidiasis.

Candidiasis can occur as a result of taking allopathic drugs (e.g. when you develop oral thrush after taking antibiotics), if your immune system is low and from eating a diet high in refined carbohydrates.

Symptoms of candidiasis can include things such as joint pain, fatigue (both physical and mental), recurring infections (especially of the urinary tract, sinuses, skin and nails) and of course digestive problems.

Historically people have followed anti-candida diets which involve cutting out all yeast and refined carbohydrates in the diet. The problem with this  approach is the Candida merely lies dormant and then as soon as sugars are reintroduced it reproduces once more.

To effectively treat you I use an approach that detoxes you from Candia initially and then work to reduce your susceptibility to future overgrowth by strengthening your immune system.
